Mankwe’s biodiversity will be conserved and managed on a sustainable basis to enhance the quality of its soils, fauna and flora for the benefit of its wildlife, customers and local community.

Since its establishment, Mankwe Wildlife Reserve has developed phenomenally and is now home to over 2000 large mammals made up of 48 species; including the endangered White Rhino, Brown Hyena and large herds of antelope.

      NKOMBI is an exciting and unique conservation volunteer programme at Mankwe Wildlife Reserve.
This is your opportunity to become involved in a vast number of valuable research projects, gain knowledge of field techniques, tracking and sampling methods, whilst living in bush cabins in the heart of this highly diverse Reserve in South Africa. NKOMBI is an ideal location to conduct undergraduate and post-graduate research projects too.
