What currencies do you accept for extra’s bought on-site?

We accept SA Rands, US dollars, and UK Pounds, we do not accept credit cards or travellers cheques.

Can you drink the water on-site?

The water is treated municipal water so it is totally safe to drink.

What is the food like?

The food is wholesome home cooked meals. During your stay you will be served both family favorite and traditional South African dishes and you will also get to sample home grown venison dishes.

Can you cater for vegetarians?

Yes.Vegetarian food is readily available in South Africa.

Can you cater for vegans or any other specific dietary requirements?

Unfortunately it is hard to find a good selection of food for vegans and those with gluten and wheat intolerances etc. We normally ask if you can provide recipes and where necessary bring hard to find items out with you.

Is it really cold in the African winter?

Night time temperatures can drop below zero, with frost in the mornings. The day time temperatures are very pleasant normally in the early 20’s.

Is there internet availability?

There is internet available at our main office but can only be used for emergencies. 

Is there mobile phone reception on the reserve?

Mobile reception at the camp is normally reliable and a local sim card can be bought on arrival at the airport.

Will I be able to charge batteries and other equipment during my stay?

Yes there is a generator at the camp which is switched on at sunset, during this time there are several plug points available to charge electronic equipment. Please remember to bring adaptors to suit your equipment.

Is there somewhere that I can lock up my possessions?

Valuables will be locked up in a safe on arrival.

Are there spiders?

Spiders are around as you are in their space. Leave them alone and they will generally leave you alone. Most of the spiders which are evident in the camps are not harmful.
